Dr. A. Kumar’s Pathology, is a CEA registered Laboratory in Hazaribagh known for providing quality reports in Histopathology (Biopsy) and Cytology since August 2019. With this expansion we have started routine clinical testing services too. The idea of Dr. A. Kumar’s Pathology originated from the urgent need of a Medical diagnostic laboratory with internal quality controls program and External quality assurance schemes, which is committed to providing quality reports that can be trusted.

Dr. Abhisek Kumar is registered with Jharkhand Medical Council and is serving as Consultant Pathologist in Dr. A. Kumar’s Pathology. He has completed his MBBS from Manipal college of Medical sciences with a Gold medal in Microbiology. He later completed his residency in Pathology from the reputed J.L.N Hospital and Research Centre, Bhilai Steel Plant Hospital. The BSP's JLN Hospital & Research Center, is an 860-bedded high-tech hospital and is the most reputed hospital of the region, which caters to not only steel plant employees but also to the population in the adjoining areas of Bhilai. Equipped with modern diagnostic facilities as state of art Pathology lab, CT scan, nuclear medicine department etc., the annual OPD attendance in this hospital is over 12 lakhs. A separate cancer hospital running at BSP's Sector 1 associated with J.L.N Hospital with good exposure in Oncopathology.
Since 2017, Dr. Abhisek Kumar is associated with HZB Aarogyam hospital and Hazaribag Pathology as Consultant Pathologist. In a short span of 2 ½ years he has started Cytopathological tests like PAP smear and FNACs at Hazaribagh pathology and Histopathological tests (Biopsies) at Dr.A.Kumar Pathology which is the pioneer of Histopathology testing in Hazaribagh.
Lab Overview
All registrations are done at dedicated registration area under laboratory information and management system. The system ensures that testing is done within specified turn around time (TAT). The reports are sent via SMS and email to the patient as well as attending consultant as soon as test is done and validated by our pathologist.
We have a separate phlebotomy or sample collection area with all necessary precautions for safe and comfortable sample collection. There is a private dedicated area for PAP Smear sample collection and FNAC procedure.
Our laboratory is equipped with quality instruments and reagents which undergo periodic internal and external quality testing (by EQAS-AIIMS, CMC Vellore, RML -Lucknow) to ensure accurate results which are on par with reputed hospitals in the country.
We have a dedicated Histopathology and Cytopathology laboratory with automated tissue processing unit and other equipment required for tissue sectioning and slide preparation for Histopathology.
